What is a good natural, supplement free detox for the kidneys and liver?

I want to avoid taking any supplements as i have a heap of allergies so i was thinking lots of water and vege juices etc. any ideas?
Alternatively, how important and beneficial are the common detox supplements ie. milk thistle etc. for this sort of thing.

I like the old fashion mixture of apple cider vinegar, honey, lemon, cayenne, and water. mix a gallon in these parts and drink every day for 1 week.

3/4 gal. water
3 tbsp. Honey
dash of cayenne
fill the rest of the gallon with the apple cider vinegar

It is good for detox and boosts metabolism. I would recommend a mostly vegan diet during this time. Use a lot of nuts or natural nut butter for protein. Grains in the morning, peanut butter at lunch, salads for dinner. Fruit and vegetables for snacks. I do this twice per year for detox and also recommend it to my patients.
